I know that we’re heading into July, but it feels like summer just arrived in Seattle. Ryan and I took the kids to beach last Saturday for our first sunny beach day of the year, and even though it’s not exactly relaxing with three kiddos it was so much fun! We searched for crabs, put our feet in the water, and picnicked. At one point I even got to lay out on the blanket and shut my eyes for a solid five minutes, which felt like an eternity!

Wear | Our tried & true favorite beach shoes are Native Jefferson Shoes because they are lightweight, comfortable, and super easy for the girls to slip on. Plus we can quickly rinse the sand off when it’s time to leave. If we’re going to be somewhere that’s more rock than sand, I also like the Keen Newport H2 Sandals. They provide more traction and are also breathable. The most durable sunglasses for babies & tots are Babiators, which come in a handful of styles. And how darling are these ponchos by Poncho + Parker that your little ones can throw on while playing in the sun! I’m obsessed with Turkish cotton everything because it’s lightweight, takes up little space to pack (unlike terrycloth) and gets softer & more absorbent with each wash.

Eat | How smart is this mesh beach tote with an insulated cooler? Seems like the perfect beach solution! I also love the YUMBOX boxes for packing lunches. They are leakproof and have multiple compartments so you don’t need to bring lots of containers. I promise they’re worth every penny. These Bumpkins Reusable Snack Bags are perfect to pack quick snacks for the kids, and the Munchkin Stainless Steel Sippy Cup will keep your little one’s beverage cool all day.

Play |  One of the biggest things I’ve learned with beach toys is to keep them to a minimum. Pick some quality ones that your child will love – they’ll be plenty entertained and you’ll have less to haul. We have the Green Toys Sand Play Set which has held up incredibly well over the years, and I recently discovered Quut which makes fantastic toys – the Scoppi Beach Shovel is the next on my list!
